Dear Dr. Boli: I have been trying to grow a zen garden without success, and I am wondering whether I have been using the wrong sort of seeds. Where does one purchase viable zen seeds, and how does one keep them viable until one is ready to plant them? —Sincerely, Zen Master Irving McPreen, West End.

Dear Sir: You must listen for the sound of a single seed sprouting within your own heart. Then you must take up another hobby, such as philately.

I tried to grow a zen garden once, but similar to all the rest of my gardening endeavours, I mostly seemed to grow rocks.
