MAYOR LUKE RAVENSTAHL of Pittsburgh, known as well for his literary accomplishments as for his political acumen, has completed his new translation of J. K. Huysman’s famous novel Là-Bas into the Pittsburgh dialect. The translation, under the title Dahnnaire, will be sold in a limited edition of 300 copies bound in vellum and served with French fries and cole slaw between two slices of Italian bread.

The piquancy of the local dialect cannot but add a tang of versimiltude to the quotations from the mediaeval documents of the trial of Giles de Rais – and the presentation of the book with fries and slaw will enable the reader to interact with the text’s descriptions of cookery, to boot!
