First Things is embarking on a journey through the wild world of college rankings, and we need your help. We’d like to come up with a list of schools that provide (1) a solid academic training, (2) a diploma that will mean something at the end of day, and (3) an environment where faith, if not actively supported, is a least approved of and not discouraged—inside and outside the classroom.
To help with that last part, we’re asking undergraduates and recent graduates to fill out an online survey that will give us an idea what it is like on their campus for a student of faith.
So, if you have a spare moment, please fill out our survey and help future college students and their families find a school that fits best.

I’m not sure how to answer these questions – which numbers mean which value? Can the questions be re-worded a little more clearly?

What kind of survey requests a yes/no answer to a question like this?
“In your experience, do your professors generally ignore or ridicule religion, or do they take it seriously?”
Half the questions are this way. This is a terrible survey. At least it allows for comments.

Questions 1, 2, & 7 don’t make sense for the numerical “yes” or “no” response, as they’re worded to ask “Is _____ true or is _____ true?”
Can this be changed? Or should we skip the number and simply give our answer in the box?

Thanks for pointing that out. We made some changes to the wording of the questions and added a key at the top to make it easier to figure out. Hopefully that makes the survey a bit more clear.
