Right now I’m in FT contributing writer Gary A. Anderson’s introductory Old Testament course at Notre Dame. Our homework for tomorrow includes detailed biblical criticism of Genesis 1–11. And this:

    I wonder if Gary Anderson’s Old Testament course is going to go through all Chapters. I was in a Study and was shocked to find out that many Christians did not know that Genesis 13 was resummarized in 2Peter. I was also amazed that Lot was considered a very righteous man and continually vexed by the homosexual sins occurring around him.

    I can just see this running on the website of a rather legalistic sect, only with the caption:

    “Beer: It’s what’s for sinners.”
