Terri Schiavo’s father, Robert Schindler, died last night of apparent heart failure at the age of 71. His health was broken by the ordeal of trying to save his daughter’s life and he never fully recovered from the horror of watching her dehydrate to death. The family is grieving. Now THIS is a man who is a true hero, one to whom the Catholic community should give high honors. I hope his funeral receives the coverage it deserves, yet somehow I doubt it.
I would love to attend the funeral of this noble man who never sought the spotlight until he thought mistakenly, that having the attention of the entire nation would save his beloved daughter from dehydration.
