Thank you for the picture of Fr. Neuhaus’ gravestone. I would not have thought it would be somehow comforting, but it was. Yes, may he rest in peace. Amen. (Note: I could not quite read the name on the other headstone.)
I can only affirm the above comment. I was gratified to see Fr. Neuhaus’ simple headstone. I was reminded of my father’s equally simple grave at the Zachary Taylor National Cemetery in Louisville. George Weigel will be in the Archdiocese of Detroit (Plymouth) tomorrow night at Our Lady Good of Counsel. I hope to hear him and, if possible, thank him in person for what Fr. Neuhaus and First Things (and those who put it out every month) have meant to me and my own conversion to the Church and my continuing education in the faith. Thank you again Dr. Bottum.
Both are fondly remembered and sorely missed. I am currently reading ‘American Babylon”, and continued to be awed by the writing of Fr. Neuhaus. So much to learn from both great men. Thank you for posting!

Now I see – it is the headstone of Avery Cardinal Dulles. Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and may perpetual light shine upon him. Amen.
