I'm late on this one, but I want to sound a note of caution. The conclusions of this post seem to suggest the "his religion made him do it" explanation. Could not the same sort of thing be said about the unrepentant killer of the abortion doctor who has also shown up in the news lately? While you may actually be correct to some degree, I wonder if there aren't at least some better conclusions one can make. In both cases, it seems the killing of children had something to do with their rage, though this certainly neither justifies nor explains any of the murdering rampages they undertook. We live in a broken world and perhaps can only cling to our hope in Christ, knowing that he will make all things new. Otherwise, without withholding judgement of that which is evil, we can offer our love and prayers to both perpetrators and victims. Doing so is greater witness than looking for more sinister sources of blame. We know whence all of them come, and religion of every stripe has served the evil one at different times.
