For almost a decade Iran has denied that their nuclear program has any military application and that it is solely focused on the production of energy for civilian use. That makes is a bit difficult to explain their need for a “nuclear trigger”:
The notes, from Iran’s most sensitive military nuclear project, describe a four-year plan to test a neutron initiator, the component of a nuclear bomb that triggers an explosion. Foreign intelligence agencies date them to early 2007, four years after Iran was thought to have suspended its weapons programme.
An Asian intelligence source last week confirmed to The Times that his country also believed that weapons work was being carried out as recently as 2007 — specifically, work on a neutron initiator.
The technical document describes the use of a neutron source, uranium deuteride, which independent experts confirm has no possible civilian or military use other than in a nuclear weapon. Uranium deuteride is the material used in Pakistan’s bomb, from where Iran obtained its blueprint.
“Although Iran might claim that this work is for civil purposes, there is no civil application,” said David Albright, a physicist and president of the Institute for Science and International Security in Washington, which has analysed hundreds of pages of documents related to the Iranian programme. “This is a very strong indicator of weapons work.”

I wouldn’t blame Iran for working on a nuclear weapons program, if in fact they are. One of Iran’s largest bordering nations, Pakistan, has had nuclear weapons for years. Their biggest enemy, Israel, possesses nuclear weapons, which, like Pakistan’s weapons, is a violation of the non-proliferation treaty, though the extent of their program remains ambiguous. The largest ally of Iran’s biggest enemy, the U.S., possesses a large enough nuclear arsenal to wipe out the planet several times over, and is the only nation in history to have actually used a nuclear weapon. Not to mention Obama’s pre-election rhetoric against Iran, calling them “a threat to all of us.” If I were Iran, I would be wetting my pants and wanting the capability to stand up to the big boys.
I remain skeptical, though, of the intelligence report. After all, we just knew that Saddam Hussein was in possession of WMDs before we invaded Iraq–faulty intelligence at best.
And even if they are working on weapons, I like to think Iran is smart enough to not use them; if they did, they would be vaporized.

Iran should not arouse concern. Georgia is the most dangerous flashpoint. The Bible says: “At the appointed time [the king of the north = Russia] will return back [will regain the influence, which it lost after the break-up of the Soviet Union] and come into the south [many indicate that this might be Georgia], but it will not be as the former [1921] or as the latter [2008]. For the dwellers of coastlands of Kittim [the West] will come against him, and he will be humbled, and will return.” (Daniel 11:29,30a) Then Iran will be humbled also. “But ships will come from the direction of Kittim, troubling Asshur [Russia] and troubling Eber [inhabiting on the other side the Euphrates].” (Numbers 24:24a, BBE)
At that time, peace will be taken from the earth and the “great sword” – nuclear sword – will be used. (Revelation 6:4) However, it will be neither the great tribulation nor “the end of the world” (Armageddon). As Jesus foretold, that will be “the beginning of birth pains”. (Mathew 24:7,8)
If the Heavens planned a full return of Russia (and much suggests this) the present economic crisis will deepen. Then also the European Union and NATO will not stands.

These American kids and their parents are being subject to draconian Iranian injustice because of happily absent without leave Iranian nuclear scientists and the recent conviction of a caught in the act criminal Iranian arms smuggler.
This is not justice but blackmail we all know it yet we allow this bellicose upstart with familiar aims, actions and height to continue on a path of annihilation of his own people and those he is able to terminate due to our inaction.
All the historic flags have been tripped (you point to one factor that makes this regime less dangerous given its track record than the ‘Death to…’ entities that have caused millions of deaths in the past?) unless the regime is taken out now in a current conventional manner – nuclear war will be guaranteed to occur in the future.
The military strike needs to attack military and political centres in a way which disables the capacity of the Iranian regime to continue the suppression of its population.
Yes many will die but many many more are imperilled if the International community or a single country does not act now!

Did you notice that nothing about this current report (of “triggers”, which indicate that the nuclear program is warlike rather than peaceful) gives us new news about Iran or its intentions. We knew all this at least 10 years ago. We knew they were developing nuclear weapons, and they had Israel in their cross hairs.
However, the EU and other voices of caution counseled toothless “diplomacy” to solve the problem. We stood aside to let the Europeans have a try at it.
Then we elected Obama who promised that his golden tongue would solve it all with sweet talk. All of which had exactly no effect except to convince the Iranian regime that they could proceed with impunity.
