		<description><![CDATA[Violent sports train men for war, but also for a Christian life. They can keep us strong and agile, as well as develop habits of strategic and tactical thinking. One learns to train (to aspire to a better condition) and to endure. And players learn about human nature by seeing how their fellows respond to events in universal and individual ways. It&#039;s no surprise that watching interviews with sports stars is about the only time I hear overt reverence for God on TV. 

I agree that hand-to-hand combat sports in particular run the risk of celebrating domination and injury, rather than determination and skill. But I think the message can largely be controlled by rules and presentation.]]></description>
