We all know that Superman is a Methodist and Daredevil is a Catholic, but what religious affiliation is Batman (Answer: A lapsed Episcopalian (on his father’s side) / Catholic (mother’s side)).
Adherents.com, a site that collects references to published membership/adherent statistics and congregation statistics for over 4,200 religions and denominations, has an extensive list of which superheroes belong to particular faiths and religious traditions. For example, check out this roster of Jewish superheroes:
Back row: Masada; Colossal Boy; Magneto; Atom Smasher (a.k.a. Nuklon); Seraph; Magen David; Prime; Ragman; Justice
Middle row: Sabra; The Two-Gun Kid; The Thing; Shadowcat (Kitty Pryde); Mothman (Arthur); Ramban; Sabraman; Acidic Jew; Houston
Front row: Pvt. Izzy Cohen; Sasquatch; Songbird; Nite-Owl; Matza Woman; Doc Samson; Shaloman; Dust Devil (and mother)

Vindicator is Catholic? Okay, that’s a little surprising. But I’m old enough to remember when Vindicator was a guy. What happened?

Oh! How I lament the lack of Lutheran superheroes! The Anglicans get hot chicks like Psylocke
What do we get? Jimmy Olsen! Yuch.
Surly someone at Marvel or Dark Horse can come up with some blond haired, blue eyed, hard bodied, super siren to kick some bad guy butt.
