In a better (read: more literary) world, little girls would spurn the harlots-in-training Bratz dolls for these “super-powered English authors from the nineteenth century.”

Comes with barrier-breaking feminist vision. Batteries not included.

(And no, sadly, these aren’t real.)

This is spectacular. But we need a sequel depicting the sisters fighting off the modern equivalents of those men in top hats: the pointy-headed adherents to Theory and PoMo who strip their novels of aesthetic literary value and relegate the texts to “artifacts of resistance and power relationships.” I’m seeing a Yeti-like creature called “Deconstructo.”

This is the funniest thing I’ve seen in a long time. I could also see an “Austen” line – maybe all her female characters. The “transformer,” of course, would have to be sensible, sufficiently prideful and persuasive.
