Michael Liccione added a link to his comments about the recent police raid on the Catholic Church offices (and episcopal crypts!) in Belgium. His posting provides helpful background.
Moreover, Liccione makes the persuasive observation that the mainstream media has tended to give a great deal of slack to church progressive, aiding in the cover-up when it came to their favorites within the church. Nasty business, this. Nasty all the way around I’m afraid.

I guess I should applaud you for at least linking to an article which mentions Cardinal Mahoney, a man who’s name has rarely been mentioned at the two conservative, quasi-catholic sites I frequent, NRO and First Things. Sites which found space to mock Oral Roberts on the occasion of his death, and to discsuss Ted Haggard’s failure and have plenty of time to routinely mock Pat Robertson, never seemed inclined to comment on Cardinal Mahoney’s coverup.
Perhaps while you’re pointing fingers you might point one or two at the people in the pews, who seemed much more focused on protecting the Catholic Church brand than on doing what was right.
