The London-based graphic designer Yanko Tsvetkov calls this a “Geography of Prejudice.” I call it an “Accurate Assessment of How We Really View Europe”:

This is great, and perhaps the latest in a stream of books, jokes (i.e., the butler-cook-driver-lover, heaven and hell genre), and other platforms for showcasing of national stereotypes. See the delightful book “The Europeans” by Luigi Barzani, or the amazingly stupid “When Cultures Collide” by Richard Lewis. The easy availability of mapping software just opens up new possibilities here. Kudos to Finland for developing a strong “brand.”

Wonderful, funny and all true except for one thing. In the German map, Belgium is properly named, “Speedbump.”

Tragic that none of the maps have the beautifully apt Groundskeeper Willy term “cheese-eatin’ surrender monkeys.”
