Immigrants from the Middle East settled in Europe and succeeded in part because they could digest a miracle food, milk, reports Der Spiegel.

Miniskirt ban: I started at Harvard in 1967 when everyone still ate at Commons and was required to wear a coat and tie. I remember seeing at least one student who took that literally and wore a coat and tie over gym shorts and nothing else. The town’s mayor should consider carefully unintended consequences.
