Good to hear such focus being given to what need to be an important aspect of many marriages .

In these days of distance education , many who would not be able to attend the conference still would get to benefit , hopefully .

One important aspect that need to be covered could be suggesting means for couples to make abstinence an easier realm to manage – fastings , use of body in worship such as having hands outstreched for prayers , all with the intent of desiring more of the Holy Spirit presence more than focus on any deprivation – such good lenten lessons thus can be kept alive through the rest of the year for its continuing benefits in many areas .

My wife and I this year reach the 30th anniversary of beginning to teach NFP to others.

What a privilege and joy it continues to be. It’s not NFP per se which is the issue–it’s the understanding of the teachings which the Church has always held about how to live the sacrament of matrimony in a way that maintains its integrity. The experience is joyful for those who shoulder the yoke–and who discover this great truth revealed by the Master: “My yoke is easy, my burden light.”

I’m happy to say that programs like NFP Outreach and many others have helped the Church regain its voice to articulate these critical teachings, which touch the very heart of the conjugal union. In general, in many places, the scene is much more receptive to the message today than it was when we started. Indeed, false teaching is being driven out by the truth (cf Reno’s post in “On the Square.”)
