In an event hosted by The New Atlantis , Alan Jacobs discusses his new book The Pleasures of Reading in an Age of Distraction . One of the many interesting observations Jacobs makes is how he learned that keeping his thumb busy encouraged him to read more (not only does it make sense in the context, I’ve found that it was true for me too).
