Yes, unfortunately, the Kindle subscription is a completely separate subscription (Amazon sets the price on that one).
The online subscription, though, is available free to print subscribers.

So, it looks like it’s not available on the Kindle app on my iPad? The device availability only showed different versions of the Kindle.
Any plans to add it for the Kindle app?
