more on Sunday (maybe) when I have more time,

1.  A really good night for Romney.  He did about as well as he could have hoped on the jobs thing.  We created more jobs.  Well, we had a 4.7 % unemployment rate.  Mike Dukakis was better than you.  Well, George W. Bush was better than you.  He also got out of the health care part without suffering any major (new) damage.  The rest of the time he just looked confident and like he knew what he was talking about.  It also helped that he wasn’t the main target of attacks.  Again.

2.  Perry was taking flak from all sides and did okay considering.  I bet he wishes he could take the letters h, p and v out of the alphabet (this HPV discussion also gave Romney a chance to be magnanimous.)  Perry needs better answers on health care policy.  Washington won’t approve my Medicaid waiver won’t get it done.  He also looked unsteady on Social Security.  He could probably get past the Ponzi Scheme talk if he was able to explain in some detail about the programs funding problem and suggest a way of putting the program ona sustainable path.  Perry has some things to work on.

3.  Does Jon Huntsman remind anyone else of Rev. Lovejoy from The Simpsons?  Yeah, I know Hunstman was once in a Rock and/or Roll band.  And did Hunstman go out for a slice of pizza around 9:00.  He just seemed to disappear for a while.

4.  Bachmann seemed like a less important figure than Newt Gingrich and Ron Paul.  she neesd to recapture her constituency and she needs to recapture it from Perry.

5.  Gingrich went the full Glenn Beck (remember him?) on Ben Bernanke by calling him the most “inflationary” Federal Reserve Chairman in history.  I would suggest a comparison of inflation under the Federal Reserve chairmanships of Bernanke and Arthur Burns, but what would be the point?  Gingrich knew he was talking nonsense
