Clearly these atheists are motivated entirely by a desire to disrupt someone else’s holiday, for the express purpose of being unable and unwilling to coexist.
Yes, Christmas is a big holiday for Christians. I don’t understand how they can speak of “coexist” and “tolerance” when it is time for us to put up with the increasing encroachment of their own symbols, rites and rituals (gay pride parades being the most offensive) but cannot and will not reciprocate the “tolerance”.
They claim the reason why Christians are exempt from being treated decently is because Christians are not respectful enough toward people with different beliefs and different needs. But this logic works equally well if you turn it the other direction.
The people who claim to believe in respect, universal tolerance, etc. are the ones who should embody these teachings and values. Instead they criticize others for not adhering to their beliefs, while they themselves do not practice what they preach.

Atheism is the saddest religion. Having nothing substantial to offer to anyone, their apophantic dogma is to kill off whatever joy there is to be found in this broken world.
An etymological tidbit for the “Happy Holidays” crowd: the word “holiday” is from the Old English haligdæg, meaning “holy day.” So, you’re going to have to do better than that. Maybe “Happy Winter?”

Funny, most of the atheists and agnostics I know have Christmas trees. One couple I know even attends church because they love the music.

Blake –
I think you’ll find they’re not putting up atheist displays on church land, or other people’s private land. Just the public land that’s been the exclusive domain of Christmas displays up until recently.
Either it’s open to everyone who applies or it isn’t, right?

They aren’t even pretending that their “winter solstice” is a real thing. They’re just using “equality” as an excuse to troll.
And that’s what they are – trolls. People who come not to participate in something, but to wreck it.
