I think that Peter Lawler’s thoughts about how conservatives should deal with Ron Paul (and more specifically with the phenomenon of Ron Paul’s support) are deeply interesting and important.  They touch on how conservative need to deal with people in general who don’t yet accept the dominant conservative narrative.  They touch on questions of principle, policy, rhetoric, and prudence.  The Paul phenomenon says some scary things about the state of center-right politics on the national level.  And no, I’m not talking about the newsletters.  I’m not even talking about Ron Paul and his supporters.  I’m talking about the rest of us.  I’m going to leave everyone alone for now, but I’ll have some thoughts just after Christmas.

I hope everyone has a joyous holiday.
