Full disclosure: I don’t have time to read the Peter Berger article this morning, although I look forward to doing so later. My preliminary and very tentative answer is that Jews, Christians, and Muslims don’t worship the same God. Since we are talking about Mormons so much lately, I would include them. The Christian God is Triune. The God of Jews, Muslims, and Mormons is not. That strikes me as a big difference. This does not rule out that God himself considers all who practice monotheism are addressing him when they address God. That would be my approach if I were God. :P But a God conceived of as a Trinity is really quite different from a God perceived as one person.
