Our colleagues and fellow laborers in the Lord’s vineyard, Timothy George and Chuck Colson, have written a powerful and effective open letter to their evangelical brethren.

It’s a powerful testimony of Christian unity that, however divided we may be on matter of theology and church order, Evangelicals and Catholics can stand shoulder-to-shoulder to resist the imperial ambitions of modern liberalism.

Thanks, Timothy and Chuck, for your support.

Do the “imperial legionnaires” include the Supreme Court, which allowed Westboro to continue to preach hate? Does it include the liberal justices that were in the majority in the Hosanna-Tabor ruling? Does it include Dionne, Winters, and Commonweal, all of whom reject the administration’s HHS position?

In other words, it’s time to drop the characterization of liberalism as imperial. The tendency of liberalism is to correct liberalism when it goes too far. Perhaps it’s time for Reno to write an open letter to those liberals who—however divided they are on social issues as well as theology and church order—join Catholics and Evangelicals, shoulder-to-shoulder, in resisting the tendencies ALL parties have to take their positions too far.
