    For those of us seeking to dismantle their
    hierarchies, same-sex relationships can point
    toward justice, modeling a form of
    relationality that is not hierarchal and is less
    caught up in the constraints of gender ….

    IOW, if you start with the goal of dismantling hierarchies, you might end up having to sacrifice other things. Or, to flip it around, if you wish to be faithful to the “other things,” you’re going to have to put up with hierarchies.
