I am a former Muslim and, now, convert to the Catholic faith. I think that this is wonderful news and would like to see Christians and Muslims working together much more frequently. In fact I know Shaykh Hamza Yusuf personally and his is no mean intellect. There are many differences between Islam and Christianity, but feuding brothers tend to reconcile when a murderous fiend is at the front door.

Thank you so much for these deeply insightful and important thoughts. Whether we are Christian, Muslim, Jewish, humanists, agnositc or scientists — to think that pornography in any shape and form is “harmless” to individuals and humanity makes no sense whatsoever, it is straight out choosing to live in denial.

Interesting stuff. I’m interested to see how this proposal goes over with the more economic libertarian wing of modern American conservatism. I certainly applaud the willingness to work with like minded Muslims. It’s a pity that this natural, interesting, and potentially powerful alliance got knocked off track by 9/11 and the war on terror.
