My friend, a prominent Democrat on Long Island, was asked to run for the first Congressional District in NY. He was also a devout Catholic and, in 1992, asked if he could run as a pro-lifer. He was told he could, but decided not to run. In 1998, he asked again and was told “absolutely not”.
The Democratic Party had in those years. sold its soul to the devil.
