He was also a devout Catholic and, in 1992, asked if he could run as a pro-lifer. He was told he could, but decided not to run. In 1998, he asked again and was told &quot;absolutely not&quot;.
 The Democratic Party had in those years. sold its soul to the devil.]]></description>
