		<description><![CDATA[One cannot but wonder how Iran&#039;s declining fertility rate will affect the imperial ambitions of its rulers.

It is worth recalling that it was France&#039;s stagnant birth-rate that impelled Deroulède and the war party to call for an early war with Germany, if France was to have any chance of recovering the lost provinces of Alsace and Lorraine.  Delay would only increase Germany&#039;s demographic advantage.

Let us hope the mullahs in Tehran do not think along the same lines.]]></description>
