Hollywood doesn’t really get religion, just that it has the potential to make big money. They don’t really have their hearts in it. Any list of potential religious turnaround films that contains Ridley Scott;s name makes me cringe. See my book “Christians in the Movies: A Century of Saints and Sinners” which discusses the portrayal of Christians in about 200 films from 1905 to 2008 including “Kingdom of Heaven” for an extensive treatment of this subject decade by decade.

Please don’t let “Noah” become “Waterworld: The Prequel.”

I also wonder if the Maccabbean revolt could form the basis for a good Mel Gibson-directed movie (we’ve seen him do well in movies with action/armed conflict). “Masada” was a fairly good mini-series.
