I said the rank and file, not opinion leaders. And what Hadley Arkes wrote was interesting to say the least.

I actually would agree with people who advocate the use of violence against abortion doctors, if I believed that zygotes were actual babies. It seems the only logical end point of that premise.

"What is ironic is that the “baby-killers” of the pro-choice side will do nothing but condemn this threat, while actual murder is completely fine with many people who call themselves pro-life.
Irishsmile: Stereotyping flourishes among the gullible. I am strongly pro-life and, under no circumstances, would ever rationalize violence of any kind.

I am completely aware of the fact that individuals like yourself exist, and thus, I did not generalize. I just said that 'many pro-lifers', even many supposed moderates, expressed happiness at the murder of Dr. Tiller.

Mike: “Actual murder” is completely fine with many people regardless of their beliefs on abortion. That’s called the crazy fringe.

The point was that only on the anti-abortion side are murders carried and out and subsequently justified by non-murderers. Only on the anti-abortion side is forcing the closure of a clinic closed by harassment of patients hailed as a great victory. What would you think of me, if I along with a group of atheists harassed a local Catholic church into oblivion, and then bragged about 'a complete victory' for atheism?

Mike: Pro-choice no more inoculates them from that “choice” than pro-life does.

How then do you explain that abortion doctors have to fear for their lives, and are often the targets of vandalism, terrorism and murder - when such things never befall anti-abortion leaders?

Max,

You falter on your assumption. "Actual murder" is completely fine with many people regardless of their beliefs on abortion. That's called the crazy fringe. Those that take the extra step are called murderers. Pro-choice no more inoculates them from that "choice" than pro-life does.

But at the more mundane level, your thinking above is not infrequently called, "holier than thou" thinking.
