Denis McNamera’s comments at Sacred Architecture are always worthwhile. He has questioned for example the repurposing of the old Crystal Cathedral in California. I hope he addresses some of the more prominent misconceived projects. Not long ago Anthony Daniels (aka Theodore Dalrymple) wrote about the “brutish” structure that replaced the bombed Coventry Cathedral. The replacement sends you running to kneel in the nearby ruins.
