That is the context in which we should frame for instance the debate about gay marriage. As Charles Taylor says, we lack horizons against which to define ourselves and this undermines the rationality of our positions. 

It seems to me that there is a half way to teleology that is sometimes not acknowledged. A plant&#039;s best functioning and flourishing must follow certain parameters, the kind of form we must follow whether we will or not if we want insight and want to flourish. Even this level of form is sometimes rejected with teleology.]]></description>
