To help create a liturgically appropriate celebration of Thanksgiving, try singing this chant with your family. I’m pretty sure it comes from Third Samuel.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Even a small lie like that, if The Lord did not tell you that , would not be something to be grateful for but a subtle mockery of faith !

Time to repent and do away with any enemy claims so that you would not be their turkey !:)

“They ate it, and said it was good. Then we rested in the afternoon”.

Sorry, I can’t sing plainchant. I tried to search for a sung version of this, but to no avail. Is there a midi, mp3 or Youtube version?

Bu I came across some delightful Thanksgiving songs and poems.

    Happy Thanksgiving!

    The Turkey Song

    I’m a little turkey
    Short and Fat
    Thanksgiving Day is coming
Now what do you think of that ?
I had better run as fast as I can
Or your mommy will roast me in a pan!

    I Ate Too Much Turkey

    I ate too much turkey,
    I ate too much corn,
I ate too much pudding and pie,
    I’m stuffed up with muffins
    and much too much stuffin’,
    I’m probably going to die.
    I piled up my plate
and I ate and I ate,
but I wish I had known when to stop,
for I’m so crammed with yams,
    sauces, gravies, and jams
that my buttons are starting to pop.
    I’m full of tomatoes
    and french fried potatoes,
my stomach is swollen and sore,
    but there’s still some dessert,
so I guess it won’t hurt
if I eat just a little bit more.

You mean this isn’t in Third Samuel? But, but my KofC Council, including me, went and served turkey (and all the fixings) to the homeless yesterday! I simply have to read the Bible more, especially the aprocrypha’s aprocrypha.
