Bob Dole is a politician. ALL politicians are given to theatrics.

That he provided meritorous service in his youth is respectable, but not an exemption from criticism for the things he advocates or his methods of advocacy.

If there are indispensible provisions in this treaty, then remove the offensive ones and submit a bill for consideration as U.S. law.

He was flabbergasted that the Senate did not fall for the theater of having a wheel-chaired Bob Dole on the floor for the vote.

Bob Dole is a disable veteran of World War II and has been a strong supporter of care for the disabled his entire career. To imply that it was some kind of cheap stunt for him to appear on the Senate floor urging passage of this treaty is to demean a good and decent man.
