Looks promising, only Malick tends to lean to heavily on aesthetics and also detect a bit of his transcendental tendencies in this trailer. Nonetheless, as aforesaid, his latest looks promising and perhaps will prove his most mature expression of the Religious Sense yet.

Also, if anyone ever attempts a film rendition of The Thanatos Syndrome, Javier Bardem--the priest character in To the Wonder--must portray Fr. Ricardo Smith. That particular Percy novel might be difficult to turn into a film, especially a good film, but Malick himself did previously plan a Walker Percy on-film endeavor. He was going to do a film of The Moviegoer, but the tragedy of Katrina through a stumbling block into those plans.

Call me a Philistine, but hard as I tried, I couldn't get through Tree of Life. I appreciate what Malick was trying to do, I just didn't particularly enjoy the way he did it.
