Maybe it's time to stop using the National Cathedral as some sort of funeral home chapel or VFW hall for civic occasions. It's a beautiful space and as a former Episcopalian I have some residual sentiment for it, but it is, well, so over. If the president wants to secularize everything -- the inaugural benedection will be given by a NAACP functionary (another American institution by the way in bankruptcy and steep decline) -- then let's go all the way. Let's see the so-called National Cathedral function as local parish. If you want to see a truly vital and orthodox Episcopal cathedral church, go to the Cathedral Church of the Advent in Birmingham, AL.

By the way, what is the church attendance demographic among homosexuals? Has anyone bothered to ask? What will be the marriage rate? And what is the current divorce rate? And how many same-sex couples are actually adopting as they restrict adoption rights of others.

What is this so-called civil rights movement really about?
