William F. Buckley appears on Woody Allen’s tv show to discuss 1967 and other matters. The nine minute exchange is very funny and a fascinating cultural artifact — just look, for example, at how the young people who ask questions are dressed.

Thanks to Shmuel Ben-Gad for the link.

Very funny and gosh, they were both quick. Alas, Buckley was sure wrong nearly 50 years ago about the Arab Israeli mess being worked out.

    Ah, the wonders of YouTube!

Here’s a link to the first part (of 6) of a Cambridge Union debate between James Baldwin and William F. Buckley from 1965.

Buckley’s grasp of American history here seems quite weak as compared to Baldwin’s.`Sadly, Buckley’s respect for his fellow Americans of African descent is a little hard to find.
