Thanks for the compliment. I'm not sure about the dot-AU suffix — maybe it's something Blogger automatically adds for Australian IP addresses. You're correct that I am not in Australia at the moment — though, in a strange coincidence, I'll be moving to Sydney in a few months.

The factoid about the Groenwald altarpiece was something I learned in high-school art history. The skin-disease story was strange enough that I've remembered it all these years.
