Now Yehoshafat son of ‘Asa’ reigned-as-king over Yehudah
in the fourth year to ‘Achav king of Yisrael.
Yehoshafat [was] a son of third and five years in his reigning-as-king.
And twenty and give years he reigned-as-king in Yerushalam.
Now the name of his mother, ‘Azuvah, daughter of Shilchiy.
And he walked in all the way of ‘Asa’ his father.
He did not turn aside from it to do the straight-thing in the eyes of Yahweh.
Yet the high places he did not turn aside –
Still the people [were] sacrificing and turning-to-smoke on the high places.
And made peace Yehoshafat with the king of Israel.
Now the remainder of the words/things of Yehoshafat
And his manly-might which he did and which he fought (feasted)
Are they not written things in the book of the words/things
of the days to the kings of Yehudah.
Now the remnant of the holy-ones which remained in the days of ‘Asa’ his father
he burned from the land.
Now a king there was not in ‘Edom; an officer [was] king.
Yehoshafat made ships of Tarshiysh to walk/go to ‘Ofiyr for gold
But he did not walk/go
For broken were the ships in ‘Etzyon-Gaber.
Then said Achazeyahu son of Achav to Yehoshafat
“They walk/go, my servant with your servants in the ships.
But not consenting [was] Yehoshafat.
And slept Yehoshafat with his fathers
And he was buried with his fathers in the city of David his father.
And ruled-as-king Yehoram his son in his place.
Achazeyahu son of Achav ruled-as-king over Yisrael in Shomron
In the year seven and ten to Yehoshafat king of Yehudah.
And he reigned-as-king over Yisrael a double-year.
And he did evil in the eyes of Yahweh.
And he walked in the way of his father and in the wao fo his mother
And in the way of Yarabeam son of Nevat which caused-to-sin Yisrael.
And he served the Baal
And prostrated himself to him
And provoked-to-anger Yahweh Elohim of ISrael
In all which did his father.
And revolted Mo’av against Yisrael after the death of Achav.
And fell Achazeyahu away from the lattice-work on the roof-chamber
which [is] in Shomron.
And he became sick.
And he sent messengers/angels
and he said to them,
“Go/Walk, consult in the Baal-zevuv Elohim of ‘Eqron
If I will live from this sickness.”
Now the messenger/angel of Yahweh spoke to Eliyyahu the Tishbi/settler
“Arise, ascend to call the messengers of the king of Shomron
And speak to them,
‘From want of there is no Elohim in Yisrael
You yourself [are] going/walking to consult with Baal-Zevuv Elohim of ‘Eqron?’
Now therefore, thus says Yahweh,
‘The couch you ascended
there you wll not come down from it.
For dying you shall die.’”
And walked/went ‘Eliyyahu.
And returned the messengers/angels to him
And he said to them,
“What [is] this you all returned?”
And they said to him,
“A man ascended to call us.
And he said to us,
‘Walk/go, return to the king who sent you
And speak to him
“Thus says Yahweh,
From want of there is no Elohim in Yisrael
You yourself sent to consult with Baal-Zevuv Elohim of ‘Eqron?
Therefore the bed which you ascended
There you will not come down from it.
For dying you shall die.”’”
And he spoke to them,
“What manner/judgment of them man which ascended to call you?”
And they said to him,
“A man, a baal of hair, and a belt of skin belted on his loins.”
And he said,
“‘Eliyyahu the Tishbi/settler he.”
And he sent to him a chief of fifty with his fifty.
And he ascended to him.
Now look! He was settled on the head of the mountain.
And he spoke to him,
“Man of the ‘Elohim, the king speak, ‘Come down.’”
And answered ‘Eliyyahu and spoke to the chief of the fifty,
“If a man of ‘Elohim I, come down fire from the heavens
And eat you and your fifty.”
And came down fire from the heavens
And it consumed him and his fifty.
And he returned and he said to him a chief of fifty, another one, and his fifty.
And he answered and spoke to him,
“Man of the ‘Elohim, thus says the king,
‘Haste, come down.’”
And answered ‘Eliyyahu and spoke to them,
“If a man of the Elohim I,
Come down fire from the heavens
And eat you and your fifty.”
And came down fire of Elohim from the heavens
And ate him and his fifty.
And he returned and he sent a chief of fifty, a third one, and his fifty.
And he ascended
And he entered, the chief of the fifty, the third one,
And he bowed on his knees before ‘Eliyyahu
And he pled for favor to him.
And he spoke to him
“Man of the ‘Elohim,
Be precious, please, my soul and the souls of these your fifty servants
in your eyes.
Behold came down fire from the heavens
and ate two chiefs of the fifties,
the heads and their fifties,
But now, be precious my soul in your eyes.”
And spoke the angel/messenger of Yahweh to ‘Eliyyahu,
“Go down with them.
Do not fear from his face.”
And he arose and went down with them to the king.
And he spoke to him,
“Thus says Yahweh,
‘On account of which you sent messengers/angels to consult with Baal-Zevuv,
‘Elohim of ‘Eqron,
For want of there is no ‘Elohim in Yisrael to consult with his word
Therefore the bed which you ascended
There you shall not come down from it.
For dying you shall die.??
And he died according to the word of Yahweh which spoke ‘Eliyyahu.
And reigned-as-king Yehoram in his place
in the second year to Yehoram son of Yehoshafat king of Yehudah
For there was not to him a son.
Now the remnant of the words/things of Achazeyahu which he did
Are not they written in the book of the words/things of the days to the kings of Yisrael.
