		<description><![CDATA[It&#039;s not clear to me that Jindal has much of any appeal to voters in places like WI, MI, OH, PA, etc.  I&#039;ve always thought Christie is the best shot to nail them down.  

I&#039;m still not 100% sure the polls are right and this thing really is close.  You don&#039;t have to go back to 1980 for a comparison--just look back two years.  Pundits insisted all year that the GOP would only make small gains, whereas I was sitting there wondering how the heck they were missing what was clearly a massive tidal wave about to swamp the Dems completely (or was it ME who was missing something?).  

At any rate, all this stressing out over VP is silly.  Literally no one actually votes based on VP.  Those who say they do are liars.  If this race really is close, it just means that A) Romney really is a terrible, terrible candidate and there&#039;s nothing else to say, and/or B) the doomsday scenario is here and there is now an electoral majority for any Dem president, no matter how awful.]]></description>
