It's good to see your thoughts on the show, Jason. I second your estimation of the first two seasons as well, Brian. I was quite taken with the show when it was on, and thought it definitely deteriorated over time, there were good episodes in every season. Although I have refrained from writing much about it, or taking it too seriously, due to the weird stuff going on in the final episode(s)--endings are important-- you seem to have isolated the aspects of the show most worth talking about, and may indeed be right that, on balance, the Christian elements predominate the gnostic elements, and other heretical strains embedded in the storyline. You're certainly on to something with the predominant episode structure pointing to truths about the free human person. I look forward to reading your further thoughts on the show.

Is there any chance either of you saw Prometheus this summer? Have you given it any thought? I continue to hold out hope for Mr. Lindelof, whose writing certainly seems more Christ-haunted than most of what's being put on the screen today.
