I’m probably not the best person to go on about Southern Rock–love CCR (Bay Area, officially), of course, and “Sweet Home Alabama, but my Allman Brothers knowledge is low.

Maybe my thing would be more Southwestern rock n’ roll…Texas Tornadoes, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Los Lobos, Paladins, Blazers, Hacienda Brothers. Need some of that Mexicano madness and desert grit in there.

It could be a real book. If you want to retain creative control over the format etc, you might approach Bruce Fingerhut at St. Augustine’s. But you also might try Encounter and even figure out how to get an agent.

Kindle books are VERY easy to publish. A friend of mine who was an literature major at the University of Dallas just published a volume of poetry on Kindle, and it shows up very well on Amazon.

PS- Has there ever been a rock songbook on the epiphenomenon of “Southern Rock” Carl? I would love to hear your opinion about the cultural bases of Creedance, Lynyrd Skynyrd, ZZTop, and .38 Special if you ever have time

Carl, at minimum, the rock songbook should be an ebook. Your argument builds so it makes sense to put it in one place.

The Songbook posts are great. I sincerely hope they’re published in book form before too long. That’ll be the point when you might be able to get some wider attention. (Also, alas, you’d probably need your own site, something like CarlsRockSongbook.com or something snazzier.)
