McCain is the creepiest sort of opportunist, one that levered authentic heroism into a political career that has been characterized by erratic opportunism.

Senator, I appreciate your military service, but not your legislative career. You’ve long overplayed the “maverick” shtick, now your rants can do nothing but wreck the GOP, which needs no help in thinking preemptive surrender is brilliance.

No one who has been aware of McCain’s image as “maverick” throughout his career would be listening, anyway. I hope Romney doesn’t come out with stupid stuff in the future.
