		<description><![CDATA[Jim, nice use of Girard. We should all start boning up on Girard&#039;s work as our culture is now full stride into its Neo-Pagan turn: Tarentino being an excellent example as he seems to have a knack for understanding the Heraclitean subtext in B-Movie Genre.

On a slightly related note, it&#039;s about time someone on this blog did an analysis on that other film this year dealing with the challenging relationship of violence and civilization known as Zero-Dark-Thirty, especially since it is easily one of the best directed films this year and yet Bigelow was overlooked ostensibly because she was willing to portray what our entertainment (and political) culture refuses to acknowledge:
