The pathetic defense of the NHS, mounted recently here and on the other side of the Pond to try and save Obamacare, continues to collapse. Today, even more bad news came out about the appalling standards of care in the NHS. From the story:
One million NHS patients have been the victims of appalling care in hospitals across Britain, according to a major report released today. In the last six years, the Patients Association claims hundreds of thousands have suffered from poor standards of nursing, often with ‘neglectful, demeaning, painful and sometimes downright cruel’ treatment. The charity has disclosed a horrifying catalogue of elderly people left in pain, in soiled bed clothes, denied adequate food and drink, and suffering from repeatedly cancelled operations, missed diagnoses and dismissive staff.
It’s a long and painful article with many excruciating details of appalling neglect and mistreatment. Do we really want to take the risk that our standards of care could sink to these levels? I sure don’t.

One of my wife’s co-workers sister in law, went to visit her mother several times this past week. She is a registered nurse working with emergency care triage. Imagine her disgust as she entered a Palliative care unit to visit her dying mother and found her unwashed, soiled in urine and feces and no cleaning agents to be found anywhere near her room. Not the first time that she found her mother in such such sub standard medical condition. The Nurse blew a gasket but it was quite obvious to her that standards for Canadian patients have fallen way below what was once offered and it is linked to COST EFFECTIVE measures by hospital and government bureaucrats overruling the Hippocratic Oath.

Of course Britain’s National Health Service is nothing at all like what’s been proposed here in the US, but don’t let that keep you from getting hysterical.
