My secret fantasy is to be a great political cartoonist, since these masters of political advocacy can paint an a polemic picture that truly is worth more than a thousand words. I think the cartoon to the left is a good example of the genre. It really scores because the image of the president looking over the shoulder of the doctor, nay, invading her space, captures the reason so many Americans have great doubts over Obamacare. Plus, the caricature of the president works. Bravo.

If such misconceptions as expressed in the cartoon really exist it’s because liars are doing their job well. I have yet to meet an opponent of health care reform who has anything constructive to add to the debate. Instead they pile half-truths and lies on top of each other and make such outrageous claims that they seem to be engaged in nothing less than knee-jerk opposition to anything the president proposes. If Mr. Joe Average prefers to listen to the like of Sarah Palin and her stupid ranting about “death panels” then perhaps the liberals are correct in assuming he lacks sufficient intelligence to know what’s good for him. Sad, but apparently true. After all, the fools elected George W. Bush to a second term.

What about the CEO of Whole Foods? What about Steve Forbes? His columns in Forbes are filled with sound financial advice as related to the health care reform.
I’m not sure if your posting here added anything constructive to the debate. Attack attack attack – it’s getting old.
