This should really cause concern among the Al Gore acolytes: The BBC, of all media outlets, has noticed that global warming isn’t, well, warming.  From the story:

This headline may come as a bit of a surprise, so too might that fact that the warmest year recorded globally was not in 2008 or 2007, but in 1998. But it is true. For the last 11 years we have not observed any increase in global temperatures. And our climate models did not forecast it, even though man-made carbon dioxide, the gas thought to be responsible for warming our planet, has continued to rise.

The story gets into possible causes for this unanticipated pause in the destruction of the planet.  Is it the sun?  Is it ocean currents? Are we even in for some global cooling? Both sides are, for once, fairly represented.

Creating another international bureaucracy empowered to control our lives and dismantle our economy because of computer projection hysteria and politically correct scientific studies, would be folly.  The truth is, the weather isn’t within  more than our minimal control.  Let’s clean up our energy generating over time, to be sure.  But let’s not let the ideologues drive us off a cliff as if we were a herd of lemmings.  Good for the BBC for breaking ranks.

    To keep in tune with the science in the article, this comment will also not include any data to refute or even attempt to present a factual argument:

    I believe the point of the above article is to drive click-stream revenue to the advertisers on the web page. Any mention of Googleable names is why this webpage has increased its google ranking and therefor my Google searchs pulled it up.

    What this means:
    A cleverly written 4 paragraphs can boost any useless drivel to the Google News homepage.

    Talk about increasing the voice of the individual!

    How those words appear in the order of the text is more important than the ideas being presented on the page.

    Duped by google rankings…

    Is it a coincidence that Al Gore isn’t going to get his Cap & Trade $Billions, but does get a $500 Million loan from the US taxpayers to build sports cars in Finland?

    It sure looks like a very generous consolation prize.

    The models certainly have been lacking, all of them. A permafrost study report that was released by the University of Fairbanks (8/30/09) really sheds some light on the ever changing climate and the way planetary heat transfer is felt from mid-latitude to high-latitude climates, which has gone uninterrupted for millions of years.
    The science has never been settled and isn’t even close to being understood by anyone…
    From planetary mantle rifts/lesions to solar winds to volcanic activity and the earths variable axial tilt, the concensus (no such thing in science) is definitely still out.
    Here at 63 degrees latitude, the effects of global warming are done & whether we have 10 to 30 or 10 to 3000 years of cooling depends on way more than any of the 36 climate models are capable of predicting….

    How about gathering all the video of the snowed out Phillies/Rockies Playoff game and posting it as a thread topic?

    I’m downloading all the baseball snow day video to re upload on Youtube. The MSM is not giving us much snow event video for a reason, but they can’t possibly ignore the sports snow news in the cities that the snow shut out the games in. They do try hard in isolating the video to those cities thou because of the powerful affect of actual video.

    Here’s what I have so far;
