It wouldn’t be this way if the Feds had the courage and foresight to change marijuana”s Controlled Substances Act classification so that it could be prescribed like morphine or cocaine.  But the way things are, with the president breaking his oath of office to enforce the law, this cartoon has the biting edge of truth.

    I’m not at all certain it is better that the government act to curtail the direct use of a plant that is ridiculously easy to cultivate and requires no “drug lab” refinement, for whatever purposes its users might wish (outside of operating a vehicle, sharing with minors etc.)

    I can see both sides of this debate but unfortunately the government has sacrificed a large fraction of its moral authority on this issue by keeping MJ on Schedule I for so long.
