Now, the busy bodies in the US Senate want to use Obamacare to fund “community transformation.” From the story:
The bill reads:
“Activities within the plan shall focus on (but not be limited to)— (i) creating healthier school environments, including increasing healthy food options, physical activity opportunities, promotion of healthy lifestyle and prevention curricula, and activities to prevent chronic diseases; ii) creating the infrastructure to support active living and access to nutritious foods in a safe environment; (iii) developing and promoting programs targeting a variety of age levels to increase access to nutrition, physical activity and smoking cessation, enhance safety in a community, or address any other chronic disease priority area identified by the grantee.”
The transformation plans must also take action to promote certain “healthy options” at privately owned restaurants as well as “prioritizing strategies” to “reduce racial and ethnic disparities,” although the bill does not explain how racial and ethnic disparities figure in to community transformation.
The state, local, or community organization groups must also monitor the progress of their transformation plans among community members, measuring things such as weight loss, physical activity, and eating habits.
They can’t just deal with health care funding, can they? No. They have to try and “transform” society? It is a Utopian tilting at windmills that won’t make us more healthy or better society. But it will strip increase government intrusion into even the most mundane aspects of our lives as it drives us off a fiscal cliff. Good grief.

This is what happens when split infinitives are tolerated. As for transformation, Pluto went into Capricorn not too long ago, opposing the United States’ sun in Cancer, and its going to be there for over a decade. Last time Pluto was in Capricorn the French Revolution and the American Revolutionary War took place. Yes there is going to be significant transformation in government here and all over the world, along with earthquakes, natural disaster, and plenty of “change.” It’s an intense time for the elderly (Capricorn is ruled by Saturn, planet of old age) too. Obama is a Leo sun with a lot of Capricorn influence in his natal chart, which explains why he thinks he is supposed to be running everything, and I could go on about how the rest of his chart reflects him but why bother. Anyway, a few years ago my mother, in her 90s, read an article by the superb astrologer Michael Lutin in Vanity Fair about what things look like for the United States these coming years, and she asked me if it was really going to be that bad. Well, looks like it.

Heaven on earth? No thank you, I’ll have heaven in heaven.

p.s. If we can’t be a healthier, better society on our own, the government can’t do it for us. As for this nanny government business, we’ve got a governor here in New York State who wants taxes on soda pop and gives impassioned speeches about childhood obesity as if parents are even stupider than a lot of them obviously are. Obama told him not to run for governor again because he fears he’ll drag down the Democrat party. As if it doesn’t take one to know one. Well, anyway, word is the mayor of my hometown city which has managed to become unrecognizeable since Democrats took it over years ago, a stooge if there ever was one (as is Obama), who has been palling around in the state capital with the governor whom Obama has in nannystate manner butted into our state’s politics to tell not to run again, wants to be lieutenant governor. Which the current governor was before the previous governor got caught being exceptionally human. They’re all idiots, from the mayor who as police chief abolished precincts to the governor who wants to tax soda pop to their federal counterpart in the White House. And HUMANS elected them.

That’s right, our mayor, when he was police chief, abolished police precincts. He paid a committee a lot of money to “research and conclude” that it would save money not to have police precincts. Of course, not having squad cars, badges, and uniforms would save money, too. Then the police department ended up needing to spend over $50K a day in overtime. Obama thinks that the governor who’s buddies with this guy shouldn’t run again, and is too dumb to realize that he’s just as dumb as they are. And, again — these are humans, and humans elected them.
