These stories happen so often, they are called “the Gore effect” from the propensity of the weather to turn frigid wherever he appears to wail about global warming.  A demonstration yesterday fizzled due to a blizzard. From the story:

A downtown protest of the climate change talks in Copenhagen became a victim of Wednesday’s snowstorm. “Not many people showed up because of the blizzard conditions,” said organizer Clea Major, an international studies student at the University of Utah…She called Wednesday evening’s effort a success and possibly the first in a series. As for the snow, it’s not entirely new; a protest she attended last year in Washington, D.C., suffered a similar fate.

It doesn’t mean anything one way or the other about whether the weather is warming. But it is delicious.

Winter snow in Utah. How odd.

“These stories happen so often, they are called “the Gore effect” from the propensity of the weather to turn frigid wherever he appears to wail about global warming. ”

Did you mistype? Are you certain Mr. Gore was supposed to appear at this function?

How often do these stories happen? Can you give us any facts concerning the “propensity of the weather to turn frigid wherever he appears”?

I don’t know if this is “delicious” or not but it sure seems unsupported by evidence.

    Wesley J. Smith Reply:

No Jeffrey, I didn’t mistype and no, he wasn’t supposed to appear at the protest. The Gore Effect isn’t just about frigid weather when Gore appears to talk global warming, but is a general term for events such as this warming protest that got snowed out.

And here I thought the “Gore effect” referred to the lack of humour exhibited by liberals demanding statistics and facts and evidence, etc. . . .

    Wesley J. Smith Reply:

    That too, Kamilla.
