This can’t be right. As much of the USA chatters in the deep freeze–N. Carolina facing a once in a generation cold snap–weather folk in the UK warn it is facing one of the coldest winter in 100 years. From the story:
Britain is bracing itself for one of the coldest winters for a century with temperatures hitting minus 16 degrees Celsius, forecasters have warned. They predicted no let up in the freezing snap until at least mid-January, with snow, ice and severe frosts dominating. And the likelihood is that the second half of the month will be even colder…
Weather patterns were more like those in the late 1970s, experts said, while Met Office figures released on Monday are expected to show that the country is experiencing the coldest winter for up to 25 years.
Oh dear. That’s almost as far back as back when “the scientists” were predicting a new ice age. But at least the polar bears will be happy.

Repeat 100 times: weather is not climate.

Now you know that, you won’t be writing any more incredibly ignorant articles, eh? :)

Jack: repeat after me: changing the source code of climate simulation programs to hide the decline using Mike’s Nature trick doesn’t actually affect the objective reality we live in.

Where were you when every temperature spike five degrees *above* normal caused people to claim that Global Warming would kill us all?

Jack,
I think we all know the difference between weather and climate:
When it’s warmer than expected, it’s climate.
When it’s colder than expected, it’s just weather.
Ayup.

Nice piece of satire. And taking a shot at the reliably ignorant Gateway Pundit too!

The ongoing temperature decline was predicted.
All average global temperatures since 1895 are accurately predicted (standard deviation of concurrent measured minus predicted temperatures since 1900 is 0.064 C) by a simple model using the first law of thermodynamics and the time-integral (same as ‘running total’ if time steps are equal) of sunspot count.
The effective sea surface temperature oscillation (zero change over a period) was discovered. There was no need to consider any change to the level of CO2 or any other greenhouse gas. Climate change is natural.
The model, with an eye-opening graph, is presented in the October 16 pdf at http://climaterealists.com/index.php?tid=145&linkbox=true. (The integral of the PDO Index http://jisao.washington.edu/pdo/PDO.latest indicates a substantial measure of sea surface temperatures, as does the time-integral of ENSO 3.4, but not all so replace all references to PDO with ESST for Effective Sea Surface Temperature).
This model predicted the ongoing temperature decline trend. None of the 20 or so models that the IPCC uses do.
The Argo float ocean temperature measurements show that global warming stopped in about 2004 (graph on pp4 of http://www.oceanobs09.net/plenary/files/Wijffels_HeatContentTemperature_2Aa_vfinal.pdf ).

I’m not sure if gw is real or not,i think most probably just the regular cycle ever since 2006 it has been getting colder ever since, but am sure this is all caused by the suns solar low at the minute whether that ties in with gw will have to see
What i do know is we could be living as the neanderthals did with miles upon miles of glaciers as far south as the sub tropics and people would still believe in GW because they are still told to

LOL.. Global warming keeps claiming that a single bay in the antartic melting is warming…while a 10% gain in sea ice there is weather. One glacier melting is climate while another growing is just weather..
While one city had record hot.. while the entire northern hemisphere being frozen is just weather. face the facts.. we peaked 11 years ago.. we have been cooling since then. every single global char shows it. Thanks for this great story..
You have to admit that its funny that copenheagan was followed by the coldest winter on record. remember the NY summit AL gore Had that was snowed out a few years ago?

NASA: Weather vs Climate; The difference between weather and climate is a measure of time. Weather is what conditions of the atmosphere are over a short period of time, and climate is how the atmosphere “behaves” over relatively long periods of time.
WE have been cooling for 11 years.. our kids are seeing weather grandpa never dreamed experienced. THE “WEATHER” has turned to climate.. were cooling..face it..

Cooling the past 11 years, yet mysteriously warming the past 12 years and past 10 years. How can that be? By selecting the warmest (arguably) year in history, 1998, as your starting point, that’s how. Similar to me arguing that the 16 degree F increase in temperature in St. Louis today is evidence of global warming. A trend line accounting for all the temp data for the past 30 yrs shows a consistent and predicted increase in temp. The variablility in yearly temps is greater than the yearly increase in mean temp. Put another way, the variablility in temp is superimposed on the steady increase caused by increased atmospheric CO2. Global warming is no more over because of temps recorded in 1985, 1996 and 2008 any more than it was confirmed by the peaks of 1998 and 2005. And no, the models cannot predict the temperature next year. Or for any particular year. But they can predict a trend line over the course of many years.

Jef, Jeff, Jeff. I have to laugh at people like yourself who cannot, will not or simply refuse to accept that their new found religion is a fraud. How cold for how long does it have to get Jeff for people like yourself to finally admit you were all mindless sheep. It doesnt matter when you start your reference point Jeff. The AGW crowd tell us Co2 is causing a rise in temperatures. If that were true then we would see a rise on average every year regardless of when you started taking measurements. Answer me this question. Has the earth been warming, cooling or staying static over the past 11 years ? The answer is of course Jeff, it’s been cooling despite an increase in C02 levels. WaKe up Jeff ! the dream is over brother, no more new taxes for you.

Whether you beleieve in GW or not one thing that has been proven is the increase in CO2 levels with rising temperatures.
What i don’t think this is a result of after years of believing it was is man,I think the rise in CO2 is it evaporating from the oceans the same way CO2 leaves a can of coke if you leave it in the sun long enough.
I also stopped believing in GW hypothesis when i heard it was just 380 parts per million which is supposed tobe causing this, thats like 380 people in a million holding mirrors and warming a room with a million people inside

Call this largest swindle in the history of mankind the Millenium Project, the Global Poverty Act, or label it as a more noble cause such as Global Warming, oh sorry…that’s Climate Change (more marketable), it is still nothing more than a Socialist decree to redistribute wealth.

So if we were alive during the last ice age, when the earth began to warm, would we call it global warming or global thawing? If the earth were cooling, would we consider building giant nuclear power plants to warm the earth or just remove the smog controls on all of our cars and start up new coal powered power plants? I surely don’t know, but I can still ask the question.

AGW is a myth that has been perpetuated by the IPCC, an arm of the UN, which is now controlled by third-world dictators who welcome such luminaries as Robert Mugabe, Hugo Chavez and Mahmoud Amidenijad (many letters) with open arms on matters such as purchasing “carbon credits” and the redistribution of wealth from productive democratic nations to their little dictatorships. Has anyone seen the emperor’s new clothes, by the way??

Why bother writing an article if you don’t even have your facts straight? This is insultingly ignorant. A nice slight at all climate scientists.
