There is no denying the evidence that euthanasia consciousness leads to a broader culture of death that eventually accepts all comers. Latest examples from the Netherlands, which probably has the most liberal legalized euthanasia law in the world:
- Dutch doctors creating a how-to-commit-suicide informational for their patients who don’t legally qualify for euthanasia in order to enable them to commit ” autoeuthanasia:”
- The filing of a petition signed by 100,000 people to persuad the Dutch parliament to open up euthanasia to the healthy elderly who are tired of life, and now;
- A proposal to create Dutch suicide clinics that would help kill all comers. From the story:
The Dutch pressure group Right to Die NL (NVVE) is investigating the feasibility of setting up a clinic for suicide and euthanasia. It would help people who sincerely wish to die and have nowhere else to turn. The NVVE says the clinic could assist people with chronic psychiatric problems, with Alzheimer’s or dementia and people who feel they have “completed” their life. These categories of people do not meet the requirements of hospices, which specialise in terminal care. Euthanasia is available in most Dutch hospices. The NVVE would like to see the “life’s end” clinic made part of an ordinary hospital or nursing home.
Perhaps they are trying to catch up with Switzerland’s suicide clinics. Regardless, their logic is impecable. Once killing is considered an acceptable answer to human suffering, nihilism is unleashed and the “what” that causes “suffering” ceases to matter. Culture of death, Wesley? What culture of death?

The way I see this euthanasia and those who see it as a blessing don’t know that Alzheimer and dementia is also a blessing in order for it to make any sense. You see Wesley “IT” is our cells job to eventually become gods because they think by nature that they were made in The Image of God. You see, they are partly gods and our weakest strongest cell will not let “IT” happen unless the spiritual alien lost godly spirit and soul cells can con finced humanity that “IT” is hopeless to continue living cause they are our true gods but because we believe in Jesus some won’t be taken in thanks to these so call illnesses that have been created to help us out. Don’t forget that the prodigal son didn’t make it because he just gave up too quickly. Our ancestors didn’t give up to these illnesses and virus so why should we. We simply need to remember that we’re “ONE” in Christ and “IT” will be a lot easier than we ever expected if we simply believe. Right Wesley?
For one if I ever become senile, it’s because too many of our cells are venturing into too many dimensions at once time for our body to control in other words we are on the wrong track and God’s Angels will slow all of our cells in this way because the race to create our Heavenly Kingdom depends on our cell count and if we take our life “IT” will all go to Satan and his troupe. You might say that “IT” is a race between Good and bad but if you tell anyone about this, I’ll just deny “IT” cause “Why would any body want to listen to a crazy man who claims that there really is a Holy Kingdom when we all know that Satan is our Master? He’s not just a master bait her,
he’s also a master debater says sinner vic and if you don’t believe me just ask JOB and He’ll tell you that God allowed Satan to test him cause he knows how to get the job done! Now please beam me UP Scotty!
I hear ya! Personally I don’t understand what you said Victor but I like “IT” when you write!? :)
Peace

If the people have dementia, in what sense are they “comers”? Aren’t they being _brought_ to the clinic? In other words, aren’t they being bumped off at the request of their relatives? It doesn’t seem to show any concern about this. How, even from their own perspective, can a person with dementia make a rational decision for suicide?
There was a rather dark novel called _The Children of Men_ that came out about twenty years ago. I didn’t exactly _like_ it (PD James is a little too dark for me), but it certainly was powerful. Anybody remember the quietus? It was the name for euthanasia–with or without consent. They took the old people off and drowned them in the sea. In one scene the protagonist is visiting his old professor and wife. The wife has dementia. The old professor tells the protagonist that she’s been “talking about the quietus lately.” The protagonist knows it’s all baloney, that she isn’t even capable of talking about anything of the sort. Later, she is actually killed by the quietus.
Looks like it’ll be here very soon, though drowning people in batches is too messy, so they’ll do it in a neater way.

Don’t give a stupid comment if you don’t know the whole story of what is going on in the Netherlands.
Like they are are just sending people there to clinics by force to kill them.
Assisted suicide is not just done when somebody request it. discussions with the doctors and family members.
Apparently you rather let people suffer from incureable diseases.
How very noble. I hope that when I woould be in a position than when I am incureable ill, that this will be available.
Have you known people who have had euthanesia, I have, friends with uncureable cancer who requested it. Doctors, spouses, family members, everyone was involved.
Goodbyes were said and they passed away in their spouses arms. No sinister or evil deeds were done.

And Mimi, therein lies the insidious nature of euthanasia. You also have babies being killed in their cribs. People with severe depression. People with disabilities. People who haven’t asked to be killed. Doctors referring their patients to how to commit suicide guides. Real swell system. http://www.firstthings.com/blogs/secondhandsmoke/wp-admin/edit-comments.php?same=14672#comments-form
